A sea of unbrellas

Not the best weather for a graduation ceremony.

The first picture is of the stern of out tug taken from the upper wheel house 80 ft above. The upper wheel house is needed to give the Captain a clear view over the barge we are pushing loaded with 6 million gallons of black oil.

The 2nd picture was taken as we were about to go under the Hells Gate bridge in New York, as we were heading for Manhatten.

As we docked the barge in Arrecibo, PR we were greeted by an unexpected welcoming committee

End of the day

Our tug is heading back to our anchored barge for the night, after a quick run to the dock for some grocery shopping.

One barge, 3 different scenerio's

The barge changes shape drastically depending on the situation. One picture shows the barge on a tow wire, about 1000 feet behind us. Another shows us alongside an empty barge. The other shows us making up to a barge loaded with 2,000,000 gallons of diesel fuel, sitting low in the water.
