Had a staring contest with this visitor the other morning. She was checking out our compost pile.
This blog is basically me pretending to be a photographer.
Over here I pretend to be a writer/photographer.
I have issues.

24/7
The fight against rust on a steel tug boat is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week job. And the rust always wins. The top picture shows Mike, the deckhand and to Mikes lower left jack, the Captain, keeping the boat looking good.
The Captain's job description says nothing about him chipping and painting, but Jack loves to just dive right in with the rest of the boys.
Below, my assistant engineer putting together a little salad as part of our lunch. The picture has the feel of a jail cell.
That's appropriate.

These are 2 photos of the inside of my new office. The galley and the Officers hallway, equiped with a firemans suit hanging on the bulkhead.
If they think I'm putting that thing on and fighting a fire, their nuts!
That's what the lifeboats are for.
The duplicate pic is a mistake and I don't know how to get rid of it.

The first picture is of the stern of out tug taken from the upper wheel house 80 ft above. The upper wheel house is needed to give the Captain a clear view over the barge we are pushing loaded with 6 million gallons of black oil.
The 2nd picture was taken as we were about to go under the Hells Gate bridge in New York, as we were heading for Manhatten.
